The most mutually Joyful end to any sporting competition i've ever seen. Totally authentic. This particular endeavour , in itself, humbles the people doing it, and, watching it. Relief achievement and appreciation.The relief from the competitor in finishing the course, and also the relief that the crowd has knowing she got home safely. All everyone sees is the finish and the start and the pre/ post race interviews. When you are up there in the elements the mind fighting the body for some form of harmony and survival it must get lonely. I saw the finish and it brought a tear to my eye. Bog standard stuff for her i suppose thankfully in a world that still rresponds to humility and endeavour but that may need reminding what its all about from time to time.
