Didn’t think I had this issue, but tried exaggeratedly opening my hip during session today. That was the easiest 5 seconds / 100 yards I’ve shed in years!
I have started doing a set of 400m slow but trying for perfect technique. It has really focused my attention on the little nuances of the stroke and alignments. A few people have asked why I have slowed down but yesterday a girl asked "Are trying to swim perfect ?" She is good though her 100m free pb is 1:03. Great analysis thanks.
Wow, that could be me swimming, that's pretty much what my stroke looks like.
I was aware of the bad kick but I still don't get how to engage the glutes. I didn't realise my shoulder was dropping but see it now, but trying to address this yesterday in the pool seemed near impossible.
Did you fix the stroke, would really like to see it.

Helpful analysis! I have the same right shoulder drop issue when I breath on the left side. Thanks!

Tighten your lower abs to improve kicking. This will give you more horizontal profile and stability of your core to provide better effortless kicking.
