I started doing flat dumbbell press. I just started to do these a few weeks ago. For the longest time I have been doing flies with heavy weight. I really push myself hard with those. Now after I do those I do the flat dumbbell press, which as compared I find a lot easier. But in watching this video I will start doing the include dumbbell press.
Sets with Skip ! 🙂 Great special edition. I am 63 yrs young as I like to put it. Age is just a number is what we say and I really believe that. I have never really spent much time or got serious using weights in my life until last year. Up until last year I was a runner and also work the heavy bag and Krav Maga. I averaged 7 minute mile that is up until I started focusing on weight lifting. I wanted to expand by exercise routine so I took up weight lifting for fun. Now I am addicted to it. I like the feeling that weight lifting gives me. In one year I have doubled the size of my chest, arms and triceps. Its not until recently I have realized it though. I lift mostly heavy 6/8 reps. But my time between sets is very quick. I can do that because I switch back an forth between different muscles. For example I will work out my biceps in one set the immediately go to a triceps exercise and then go back to biceps and so on. I only have 1 hour to do my exercises at lunch time so I want to make the most of my time I have. I don't find the weight lifting challenging as much as getting all the sets in my short time frame. I am still working full time and I only get 1 hour for lunch. Although I do have the weekends off I have much to do during that time as well. I enjoy watching your videos since they are tailored to my age group. Your talks/discussions really get me psyched to keep at it. I want to build my upper body much more and I do not think the 1 hour will suffice so I am planning to get some equipment for home so at any time I get the urge to get pumped I can. 🙂 I am seeing some real positive benefits of my workouts as I can do a lot more than I could before do to the extra strength I have. Oh I also started to play basketball again. I guess I am stealing back some of my youth. One word of advise never weight lift before playing basketball.
Great tips on form as always Skip! I have used so many of your tips in the gym, they have been a huge help! 💪
Thanks for all the help, Skip….
