  1. Fiber! yes.. that is what I always talk about, and how carbs from whole foods are totally different than from processed sugary foods. I am sharing this video with my whole family!

  2. the only time I've ever lost weight crazy on my vegan diet was when I was running cross country on an oil salt free Whole Foods diet the whole team was shook at my weight loss sadly ive started to eat oils and processed foods and gained some weight back but I'm doing some more research to switch back!

  3. Since I have have been doing a keto vegan diet I feel fuller now. I fill full on protein shakes, Tempeh, avacado and chia seed pudding. I swim and excersise every day. I would like to lose weight but I am only down 2 pounds. I did a regular vegan diet and I didn't gain any weight. I couldn't lose any weight so I am trying keto vegan now. I have a really hard time losing any weight. As soon as I went vegan I did lose 9 lbs. I have hit a plateau. I have 51 more pounds to go.

  4. Thanks for solving the mystery of where my sweet tooth went! I never had a strong one, but it jumped of a cliff over a few months and was a total mystery to me. It's when I gained the ability to eat fiber again and ramped up to eating it by the boatload. =)

  5. Went on a whole foods plant based diet (oil free) for health specifically due to high blood pressure. Was at 186/110 within 3 weeks dropped to 120/80 and haven’t looked back. I have more energy and love the weight I’ve lost.

  6. I don’t know if anyone will reply but I have been vegan for almost an entire week, but I am ravenously hungry, I eat a lot but am still hungry. Can anyone explain that for me? 🙁 I know my body is still changing and getting used to just eating vegan, just wondering if it was normal or if I’m missing something

  7. Even in a thumbnail you look so fucked up in your face its horrible. wtf man.

also, I have a blue light filter which makes you less pale than you are actually when I disable it just to check it out because your face looks dead already in a thumbnail.

I cant believe you are unable to see this in your own face

  8. Hey mic I love your videos. I just wonder a lot if you have ever considered you might be wrong? If veganism is shown to harm people eventually will you feel partly responsible? I think that is part of the reason we are seeing so many “why I am no longer vegan” videos. These people realize they are influencers and the. When they realize it isn’t working for them they feel they need to be sure to break ties. The guy at What I’ve Learned has posted some great videos that contradict a lot of what you are saying and he presents some pretty valid science that backs it up. Have you ever considered that the reliance on epidemiology might be a bad leap of faith? Dr Darren Schmidt recently posted a video explaining the different types of studies we use to find scientific truths and it doesn’t look like epi studies really contribute much when we hold them up to scrutiny. Give it some thought.

  9. I’ve been raw vegan now for 17 days trying to heal insulin resistance and hashimotos in my body. I’ve only lost one pound! Is this normal? I’m eating a perfectly clean diet and can’t seem to lose anything!

  10. Hey Mic! I have been plant based for 2 years now and when I went transitioned, I lost about 8-10 lbs (depending on the day). I'm not a person who needed to lose much weight. I'm what you would call "skinny fat". I'm a size 3, but I carry a good amount of fat on my body (I'm soft to the touch) — mainly around my stomach and on my arms and bra/back area. I have read the literature about how we gain fat on our body. Obvious eating fat is the best way to gain fat, but how do you lose fat when your glycogen storage are never depleted? I have read about how inefficient it is for the body to convert carbs to fat and the degree to which this conversation happens is insignificant fat gain. What I struggle to understand is how to access/burn fat that I currently have on my body if my glycogen storage are never depleted? Since our body's preferred source of energy is glucose and my diet is predominantly high carb — my glycogen storage are never depleted and therefore my body never needs to use my fat for energy. Aside from creating a caloric deficit (which would suck) over an extended period of time; how else can I access the fat that I'm currently storing on my body?

Btw, I rarely exercise (aside from taking walks 3 times per week) and I don't have much muscle (hence the "skinny fat" comment). Anyway, isn't it 90% what you eat when it comes to weight loss? But what about fat? I initially lost 8-10 lbs, but didn't see much different in my fat composition. I may have lost some muscle in that 8-10 lbs. 🙁

  11. Love your content Mic. Hey maybe you could take a critical look at MindValley, the self help company run by a guy called Vishen. He must love his meat and butter as he enlists such experts as: Dr Hymen, Josh Axe and most recently James Asprey. So much Keto. And pumping it out to many thousands of people trying to become better people. Sad really

  12. I've been vegan for almost four weeks and noticed all the common temptations of junk food from when I was a meat eater is now forbidden. I do find a vegan cookie or ice cream sometimes though. 😉

  13. "A metabolic dysregulator in hiding

Propionate is a short-chain fatty acid that is a commonly used food preservative. Tirosh et al. now show that propionate induces postprandial hyperglycemia in mice, resulting in a counter-regulatory hormonal response. Propionate increased norepinephrine release by the sympathetic nervous system, leading to an increase in circulating glucagon and the adipokine fatty acid–binding protein 4 (Fabp4), which jointly induced liver glycogenolysis and compensatory hyperinsulinemia. Long-term exposure of mice to a daily low dose of propionate resulted in a gradual weight gain and insulin resistance. Studies in humans highlight the potential contribution of propionate in the diet to the development of insulin resistance and obesity." https://stm.sciencemag.org/content/11/489/eaav0120

Gosh that sounds great. Weight gain AND insulin resistance. A death sentence two-fer. Where can I get some?

  14. I used to think your rants against oils where exaggerated. Then i quit drinking alcohol (i used to drink every day because it made me feel better) and my stomach wen't completely crazy every time i ate fat. I got bloated and felt very uncomfortable and couldn't digest properly. I quit the fat, and have no problems what so ever now. I open my eyes at 6 am and jump out of the bed to be fully energetic (like im on some kind of drug) for the entire day. I literally don't feel tired untill 12 pm anymore. Just by quitting fat! Its fucking awesome!!
(Alcohol is a solvant that helped me digest the fat by dissolving it. )

  15. Just went back vegan after 10 years off . I was the dumb ass doing low carb and even carnivore. Guess who’s kidneys are messed up ??? This guys !!! Guess who has high blood pressure and cholesterol??? This guy . Now I’m going plant based to save my life ! Also just got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I thought carnivore lowers blood sugars . Nope!!! Please wish me luck

  16. I didn't have this expirence at all i had major heart issues as a vegan and was vegan for 3 years. 3 years ago i decided to switch to keto and fasting and as i have been doing that it has made me lose weight fix my heart issues from skipping and stopping to fully pumping right. Yeah i am still imporvong but now i am glad i don't have that anymore keto is what works for me and has fixed my health having meat veggies and lots of fat has been great dont have anxiety or depression or any mood swings and have more confidence in anything i do. I went from 400 pounds with joint pain and heart issues to 260 with no joint pain and no issues to thriving everyday 😊. But i do think the vegan diet is better then the SAD diet but i don't think its the only way and the healthiest for everyone i believe we are meant to eat both animals and plants.
