  1. Hi Jack. Really loved this video and keep recommending it to my diabetic friends who ask about alternative sites for Libre.
I am in Germany and currently testing the second generation of Freestyle Libre. It seems to have significantly improved accuracy compared to the first generation. So some of those locations that were giving inaccurate results for you might become more accurate with Freestyle Libre 2.
I uploaded a video about the second generation if you’d like to check it out.
Please keep up your great work and add some more cool videos! Tom

  2. I agree with your favorite choice. I definitely will not try the forearm or any where close to the arteries.or many veins. The back of the arm is a little annoying but for now I will stick with it and learn to sleep differently.that is the main issue I have is with sleep. I’ve tried another device on the abdomen it’s ok but more painful for me.maybe the libre wouldn’t be.the 14 day is more comfortable to apply than 10 day.something in the applicator is just right for the 14 day. Cool 😎 video thanks

  3. Doesn't the company state that the only approved/recommended site is the back of the upper arm. I don't think you can sue them if you ignore their directions and something bad happens.

  4. Where would you suggest an avid road biker put the sensor. I will have mine in a couple weeks. I was thinking the side part of my abdominal fat. I am thinking I would keep the reader in my right rear jersey pocket. Reach in scan, put it back, grab a bar and eat if I needed too. I also where bibs over a compression shirt, so it will not be moving. Hopefully you see this!
Oh! another question, once data is uploaded to the receiver does it have the ability to transmit to your smart phone?

  5. This is such a helpful video I really wanted to change my sensor placement for the summer not that i really want to hide just don’t want to get asked a lot of questions on it when I’m wearing short sleeve tops I’m gonna try the hip next

  6. Got mine today. I'm the crazy chick who self tests despite no diagnosed diabetes issue. I'm rewatching because I sleep on my side and I don't want to do the default site.

  7. Thanks! Desperately looking for a different spot to put this on. I only recently got diagnosed with diabetes, so this is all pretty new for me. But the upper arm does not work when I have to put on a wetsuit for surfing. It's just not possible to put the wetsuit on without ripping the sensor off.

So chest and hip seem like valid options. Although I'm not sure if I have enough fat on my chest.

  8. Love my Libre and with sleeveless attire I was looking for alternative sites and I'm definitely going to try the hip or side of my torso…enjoyed the video and the music☺️

  9. If you are the least bit adhesive allergic, don’t put the sensor on the inside of the arm. I can tolerate the Libre on the outside of my arm but I nearly knocked the sensor right off of my arm from the location inside my arm. So itchy. That skin that is protected will always be more sensitive. I forgot this and regret it. Now to make it through the next 12 days till this sensor expires without tearing it right off my arm.

  10. The inside of the arm looks best. I had 2 bad sensors recently. One gave me the first blistering, rash I've ever had using the Libre. The one right after? The battery went out after 1 day. Those FreeStyle Bitches! 8)

  11. OK, I am an active person as well. I am a dog walker(3-5 miles per day), I swim laps once per week, ride my bike, hike. With all the pups and leashes and the activities, I am now wondering where to put this that leashes, claws , clothes and body parts wont catch it?

  12. I have been on my Libre for about 2 months now and using the back of the arm. However, I think I have had three fall off prematurely. I assumed the problem was that they didn't stick to my arm. But I found that the failure point was between the sensor and the adhesive strip. The adhesive was still stuck securely to my arm. What has the experience been of others? I am now trying some adhesive bandage patches ordered from Amazon. Only on my first one but it seems to be holding very well. I called Abbott Labs and talked to them and they sent me some free replacements.

  13. This was really helpful, thanks! I am a recently diagnosed type 2 and am on my 3rd sensor; all placed on the back of my arm. I am trying not to be too vain about it, but find I am getting a lot of questions when the sensor is visible, which is what led me to finding your channel. When you state accuracy is "4/5" or lower, is that within a percentage of a finger stick test and if so, how much "off" is it? I've found so far, that the Libre can be off up to 20mg/dL to my glucometer in either direction and sometimes it's spot on. I've only compared resting BG.

  14. I personally like the inside of the arm. It's been very accurate for me, I sure don't like the outside arm do to catching it on the doors. I'm thinking about trying it on my chest next….
