  1. OMG, Meghan! I've been doing those steps since a few months ago because same as you, I used to hate my curly hair. Then, since I've been embracing minimalism (thanks to your channel!) I realized, I had been spending a lot of money getting my hair treated every time the roots are growing out so I stopped it. Now I'm excited to see what my natural curls would look like after a few months.

  2. Hi ! Your hair looks great like that ! I've always had my hair curly but all I did for it was wrong as I brushed it, tied it strongly etc, simply because I had no idea what to do with it ! And I discovered this method like a month before you posted this video and yeah, it does take time to get it right 😅
But still, I hope you will keep following this method and give us ideas and advice about it 😊

  3. I started using the curly girl method about 3 months ago. It took me quite a few weeks to figure out what advice to follow and what to ditch, and how to refresh my hair on day 2-4 (I only wash 2 times a week). It also took a lot of research to find CGM friendly products in Australia, because we can't get what you have over there! I have ended up air drying my hair, because diffusing just take too long and I'm not patient enough! I'm now quite content with my curly hair in a way I have never been.
I can't wait to see what kind of routine you ended up landing with, and what works for you.

  4. Lovely. Welcome to the Curl Club. I freed my hair years ago by letting it do it's natural curly thing. I recommend long layers if you want more volume or to direct the shape. I only use my fingers instead of a comb and and my hair is so happy and healthy. Have fun with some updos and boho style hairdos. Curly hair is more fun for those styles… you don't have to fuss to get them to look good.

  5. I do have wavy curly hair, and once we decide to let our hair naturally can be a challenge but don’t give up .
I being using the curly method hair for 4 years and ever time I wash my hair coming out diferente our hair have they’re on personality, but you will figure out. I try so many brands and one year and half ago I discover this brand call (love ur curls) you should try, it is only 3 product shampoo, conditioner and all-in-one it is the best product ever. Keep us post. I loved your channel. You inspired me . Thx.

  6. I have curly hair and like you, I also didn’t like my hair. But for the past 10 years plus I have been loving and embracing my hair just as I have had to embrace my body shape and all those kind of things. Very liberating really. Enjoy getting to know your hair. Beware of becoming a product junky – the struggle is real 🤪. A tip. If it doesn’t bother you; try to tie up your hair in a pony tail right on the top of your head at night (a pineapple) it really works to retain those curls.
P.S. Your curls look beautiful. Light and fun. 🇿🇦

  7. Your curly hair looks beautiful. I like how that front bit looks. I am looking to try the curly girl method myself, and hope I will find a bit of a curl pattern to my wavy, fluffy hair. I would love to see a follow up video and a hair routine video.

  8. Your curls are beautiful! I used to blow dry my curly hair and then flat iron it everyday until 2 years ago when I learned about the Curly Girl Method. I have a very simple routine that I've learned through a lot of trial and error. I use the Suave coconut conditioner as my co wash (gently rubbing into my scalp for 1 min), Shea Moisture raw Shea butter restorative conditioner as my conditioner (using the "squish to condish" technique), Cantu moisturizing curl activator cream or Herbal Essences totally twisted gel (using the praying hands technique then scrunching with my bare hands for both products). I usually scrunch with a t-shirt then let my hair air dry. If I'm in a hurry, I diffuse my hair. I don't plop because my hair is too short, but I'm trying to grow it out so I think the T-shirt turban/plop might work better when my hair is longer. Whenever my hair just seems limp, I clarify it with a sulfate shampoo then follow up with my normal routine. I have very fine, low density hair so I generally end up doing this once a month. Once a week I sub a low poo option for my co wash. I like Shea Moisture raw Shea butter moisture retention shampoo. Whenever I change something, I only change one thing at a time so I know how that product does. Kind of like an elimination diet, lol! Good luck with your curly hair journey! 💜💜💜 P.S. Sorry for this wall of text, lol!

  9. Love your curls! 😍 I tried Curly Girl Method to my wavy hair and it was not suitable for me. My hair is fine and gets easily tangled and not brushing is not on option. I think I also need some silicones to detangle or my hair is like straw 😂

  10. My hair used to be very wavy/slightly curly. Unfortunately it isn't any more 🙁 I would give a lot to have proper curls!! But I used cg products ever since, it's been probably about 7 years now. And I do use them for my mixed race daughter (who's got birthday the same day as you!! <3).

PS. I've never commented on any of the videos or blogs, but I recently discovered your channel and I love it! You are such a beautiful person in and out. Greetings from Scotland!

  11. Love the way your hair came out!
I have thick curly hair and have to say that not flat ironing my hair anymore has made it much healthier. would recommend Deva curl products!

  12. Your hair is beautiful! I tried the curly girl method but I couldn’t really get it to work for me. My hair does not air dry well, it also flattens while I sleep so it just looked terrible all the time so I gave up. I may try again in the future when I have more time for trial and error.

  13. Your curls are so beautiful, so happy you're embracing them. I went through a similar process a few years ago and it's so worth it! It took a year or so for my hair to repair it's self and now it's the curliest and healthiest it's ever been 😀 I might give the Shea moisture product a try too it made your hair so soft and gorgeous 😍

  14. So so cute!
I have opposite hair, very stick straight. I’m always trying to add volume to it but also try and stay away from products. Sometimes I just wish I had curly hair so I could try methods out like this.

  15. I'm a curly girl that follows the CG method too! All natural products, no terry cloth towels, and I diffuse on low heat until my hair is about 60% dry, then air dry the rest of the way. I use "Not Your Mother's Naturals" shampoo, conditioner, and conditioning cream, along with Spiralicious styling cream. My hair has never been healthier!
Love your new curls! You'll see how they only get better and more beautiful the longer you care for them.

  16. I have curly hair too. A friend of mine got me using John Frieda conditioner as a leave in conditioner and combing through it with a pick while damp and scrunching it. Between washings, she sprays her hair with water, conditions it and scrunches it. This make the hair more elastic and less prone to breakage.

  17. Hey….i too have curly hair…..n it's been a year since i have been wearing my curls….one thing that i would recommend is not to comb your hair….. whenever you wash them after like 2-3 days…. apply good amount of conditioner n detangle your curls by running your fingers through them….that will avoid unnecessary breakage!!

  18. You look so cute and so much like yourself with curly hair. I mean you are definitely a curly hair person. By the way I am trying to revive my curls with the help of CGM. To be honest some days are a real struggle. I have to wash my hair everyday even if I don't shampoo it and it is not easy. But my hair is so much heat damaged I really don't want to go back to flat ironing it everyday. Anyway, I love love love your curly hair

  19. I have curly hair and I find it much easier to let it do its thing than to straighten it. I personally don’t do anything to my hair, I wash it twice a week, brush it, let it air dry. That’s pretty much it lol.
