  1. i'm a bit confused with how this strap works, would it still work at a basic level with the app if i didn't do the subscription? or would the strap / data only work in conjunction with the monthly subscription?

I wore for a few weeks now, it’s clear that I fell for JRE and your marketing hype (funny that pnoe guy said on your podcast that wrist wearables are all useless before ceo (Will Ahmed) redirected the convo lol). Your device is absolute garbage, it’s way more inaccurate than Fitbit or Apple Watch, they're mostly relying on user input and fishing for correlations. I am returning this piece of junk and getting my money back.

  3. Lol this definitely isnt the cheapest option out there. If you arent paying a monthly membership your strap is useless. Very unlike all the options out there where you pay once and can keep for years and years

  4. I got a whoop 3.0 a few days ago so it's still learning my body. Been wearing a fitbit charge2 for the last couple years so I've been wearing both to compare the readings. As far as sleep, the fitbit and whoop track almost the same numbers, very little difference in sleep cycle times. Only tracked one workout so far and the estimated calories were almost exactly the same also. There was a difference in max heart rate where the whoop read max of 189 and fitbit maxed at 178. I'm inclined to believe the whoop since it takes readings much more frequently. Biggest difference so far is the calories burned estimate throughout the day. My fitbit reads 1k-1.2k over what whoop reads. I have a very physical job and do crossfit after (some days). Fitbit says I burn 4-5k calories/day. Whoop reads just over 3k. Again, I'm inclined to believe whoop because I usually eat about 3k calories/day and so just fine as far as energy and weight maintenance. So far I really like how the whoop gives you a strain and recovery score and tells you how to use the data, whereas the fitbit just spits out data, some of which isn't really useful like steps/day or tells me I need to eat over 4k calories/day, which would probably make me fat as hell. Only really like my fitbit more for the vibrating alarm that wakes me up every morning.

  5. Affordable? This is a subscription service that you never stop paying for…so in the end it would be more expensive than all those other smart watches or fitness trackers that you mentioned.

  6. I only spent $30 to start my membership. And it is only $30 a month. How did you end up paying $135 to begin with? Also, I have been using it for only a week. I think to really hone in on if it works for you, is to give it 30 full days. Not just the few days it takes to "get to know you".  Don't change your normal routine till after those 30. At least that is my plan. I want to see if what I change actually shows results in my HRV increase.Be patient with this device. I have a lot of faith in it that what it does is helpful if you let it.

  7. Hey rob just a heads up I’ve had a whoop for a little over two years. It’s a great tool but I think there is something going on with the calories, they seem to fluctuate with diagnostics. I had just them run a data review and went from burning 3,800 to 2,800 with no real change in activity level. This also happened last year when I had them check how the whoop was working. All and all it’s a fun tool but I wouldn’t put too much stock in it as a calorie counter.

  8. Garmin is way more accurate in terms of calories but in terms of data recovery and strain, Whoop is the winner…but dont trust whoop calorie count at all. In my case its wayy too generous compared to Garmin and i know that as i track my macros and weight

  9. Hate to break it to you Rob but this thing seems like a total ripoff. It's just a glorified heart rate monitor with an app that translates data for you. I think the subscription model for something like this is a total scam

  10. What happens after the 6 month membership period? Do you have to continue subscribing to be able to use the app and how much is the membership fee?
