  1. Jason "carbs make you fat" Fung has been proven wrong a million times over. It is IMPOSSIBLE for carbs to make a person overweight. It's the fat that's always eaten WITH the carbs that is the problem.

  2. I wanted to lose the last 10 pounds of my bodyfat to get lean or shredded but after months of cardio and 1800 calories per day diet I never lost that last 10 pounds n then I though I should give up but when someone told me about IF with low carb diet. Trust me after months of failure just in 3 weeks with 14 to 16 hours water fast per day and with 2000 calories low carb diet like 100 grams of carbs per day max n rest all calories came from protein and fat I got lean and shredded has fuk with my abs clearly visible and my belly is flat and strong with no lose skin and that also without hours of excercise just 3 times gyms per week and 1 to 2 hours of walking 5 times a week. So yes I can guarantee low carb diet works for weight lose for sure

  3. Dr Fung. I enjoyed your books and wondered if I could ask a question I haven’t been able to find an answer to.

I’m a scientist at heart and I totally understand and agree with this and have been doing intermittent fasting for about 2 months now.

I always open my eating window without sugar, simple or processed carbs so as not to cause a huge spike in insulin. For example, Last night chicken, roasted green beans, sautéed butternut squash in butter , salad with bacon and ranch dressing. Then about half hour later had a little something sweet with some almond milk. Last night was kettle corn, but could have easily been blueberry muffin or something chocolate.

    Here’s my question

When I eat the sweets after the meal what happens to insulin levels. I think I know but would love confirmation and any additional info

    A. Insulin spikes as high as it would if eaten before meal

    B. Insulin goes up a little more but not as high as of eaten before a meal. The insulin already in the blood is enough to deal with the influx of sugar and there is not a need for a large release

    C. Insulin doesn’t rise any higher because there is enough already there to deal with the sugar coming in

    D. Something I haven’t thought of

I’m thinking B is correct but again looking for confirmation to that father answer and reasoning

Second part of the question…. if B or C are correct then how long after the meal does circulating insulin Offer this protection against the spike? 30 min? 60? More?

    Thank you

  4. 2:27 “Your body is going to reduce calories out” so your saying that if you are a 55 year old obese man with insulin resistance, you cant lose weight….. I believe that this is bullshit. Please correct me if im wrong

  5. Can someone explain the vegan plant based diet weight loss? They eat a bunch of carbs and lose weight. Is it just calorie restriction? Also what is the dietary impact on insulin from that diet?

  6. It is about how many times you eat a day, it doesn't matter what you eat and how much you eat, of course processed foods are a big no and importance of macros cannot be underplayed, OMAD diet and TMAD diet will work and sustainable through out life. The hormones and calories and carbs and proteins and oils and Keto and extended fasting (think about thin and non obese people) and other lines of discussions are meaningless and confusing. So many proponents for each of them with conflicting stands. Because the reason is not Glucose or Ketones, it is Excess Insulin. Please go through Dr. Joseph R Kraft's videos and his book "diabetes and you" Or go through touchworld.org The beauty is we can measure the insulin patterns and reverse diseases by following OMAD and TMAD diets. Almost all diseases, mental and physical are associated with excess insulin! Dr. Fung's methods work, but his concept of insulin resistance is only a concept, cannot be clinically measured, but Dr. Kraft addresses it simply and is equated with Hyperinsulinemia and measurable. Not only Dr. Fung, many great doctors and scientists are mislead, they are looking at plasma glucose levels to determine diabetes, which is totally wrong, Dr. Kraft has data on 14,000 + people to prove his case. Obesity, diabetes mellitus, dementia, etc are all symptoms of Diabetes as defined by Dr. Kraft, which manifest after 7 to 12 years being hyperinsulinemic. Only One meal a day or two meals a day will solve the problem. It works for non obese persons as well , they get cured of diabetes.

  7. Dr' Fung's book changed my life, he explains why losing weight is so difficult, with the knowledge he gives, you can understand not only why you gained weight, but how to change your life to lose the weight and keep it off. I wish they would let patients talk to this man before bariatric surgery, instead they prefer to butcher people needlessly

  8. I homeschool and I'm following a curriculum, and one of the lessons is teaching the hokey "calories in, calories out" to my 10-year-old. I'm going to briefly break down why it's hokey, and show him this Dr. Jason Fung video instead. My kids would never get the hormonal theory of obesity in government school.

  9. Inevitably, I daily experience hypoglycemic symptoms faster than u can say glucose(by all means, I am in no way shape or form attempting 2 insult ur intelligence. I’m sure ur well-versed w the typical symptoms that accompany this. Furthermore, I feel it is imperative 2 add, that I do NOT have diabetes)

I’ve had hypoglycemic symptoms 4 as long as I can remember n each n every doctor I have ever encountered is well-aware of this fact.

Symptom-wise, I experience immense confusion, shakiness, irritability, fatigue, an inability 2 b productive or maintain focus/attention, as well as an extremely heightened form of anxiety. (Which, moreover, I believe it 2 b important 2 share the fact that I have severe comorbid diagnoses of OCD n ADHD)

In the past, I typically received some sort of indication that an onset of the symptoms were imminent. However, at this point in my life, there exists nary a transitional period or segue, which could possibly grant me a brief warning of any sort etc..

I’d b remiss if I didn’t make it known, that I make an earnest attempt daily, 2 remain cognizant of the amount of hours that have passed since my last meal or snack. What’s more, I proactively have premade grab n go food readily available once I begin 2 experience said symptoms.

That being said, I am desperately in search 4 some informative tips, which would greatly assist in keeping my blood sugar levels steady, on a daily basis. Whether it may involve particular food combinations I partake in during meal/snack times, as well as but certainly not limited 2, a particular daily meal/snack regimen/schedule?! Any advice would b greatly appreciated! I truly thank u 4 ur time n I hope u have a great day! 😊

  10. I lost 106 pounds on counting calories for 2 years, high carb, high protein, 4-5 meals a day. Fasting and keto are not the ONLY way. If what he's saying is true then people who go on cuts and bulks eating the same foods but different amounts of calories wouldn't work lol

  11. Between Dr fung and Dr Berg
Millions of Jobs will be lost,
America please don't fast and please eat a lots sugar, a lots of families will be homeless, please think about all those kids
Your duty is to keep our country strong
So, eat 6 times a day with a lots of sugar, get diabetes go to the doctor buy medicine, after 10 years go to the surgeon amputate your legs, then eye doctor pull your eyes out..
This way you sacrificed your life for our country, just as solders do..
Don't listen to these people to get healthy..
    God bless America!!!

  12. Dr. Fung is a breath of fresh air. An honest genius with a humble demeanor. No nonsense. Makes the information easy to understand. And he is sooo right. IF all doctors know this, why haven't they done something about it instead of just telling patients to eat less exercise more ??? all of a sudden, now doctors are acting like they invented fasting and are giving TED talks. I wish Dr. Fung all success. He should get a Nobel prize for honesty and ethics.

  13. Diagnosed with T2D in december. Lost 45 pounds and only been able to do IF and strict Keto 80% af the time – if I had the willpower to do it 100% I would problably have lost the remaining 40 pounds I need to loose. No meds of any kind and A1c is now within normal range. Just wanted people to know it works.

  14. I teach English and I appreciate his ability to really say things simplisticly, Believe it or not, that is a very hard skill to master.

  15. So, its not about the calories, its about fasting 🌹, cos when i reduced the calories and almost no carbs, i didnt loose weight at al. The fat was locked up behind a steel door in the basement. I couldnt get to it. Maybe i try your tip, by fasting and eat 1-2 times a day. And see what happends🤔

  16. Creating a calorie deficit is STILL the most important thing to do to lose weight/fat. Eating a balanced, high protein diet including weight training and conditioning is the proven way to lose fat. According to DR. Layne Norton, insulin and other hormones tend to follow calories in vs calories out.
